The fruit is important for eye and skin health, bone health and blood clotting, cell damage protection and immune system boosting. All these benefits come from the calcium, phosphorus, potassium and vitamins A, C and K present in this deceptively small, bright yellow-orange fruit that is eaten raw or cooked.I grow fruits in town because fruit farming is good for human wellbeing, environmental health and livelihoods.
1). Fruit farming brings down the cost of food and healthcare
2). Fruit farming provides green and soft spaces and helps in reducing air pollution, carbon footprint and concrete jungle-induced stress
3). Fruit farming contributes food security, nutrition, reduced dependency on markets and income generation.
