The road traverses the Sabatia Constituency (Vihiga County) and Ikolomani Constituency (Kakamega County).Tarmacking is ongoing along the Sh953-million, 11-km Chavakali–Eregi–Lusiola–Musoli–Malinya Road.
The project, under Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), is upgrading the road to bitumen standards. It was launched by President William Ruto on March 16, 2026.
The upgrade shall improve connectivity and access to markets and essential services.
The upgrade is expected to lower transport costs and ease travel times for farmers, traders and students.The road traverses the Sabatia Constituency (Vihiga County) and Ikolomani Constituency (Kakamega County).
